There is no question that the first-ever virtual CCA Annual Meeting will not soon be forgotten. Of the 70 sessions held covering multiple practice areas, notable sessions included Monday morning’s opening general session where keynote speaker Dr. Tasha Eurich discussed her groundbreaking research examining the notion of achieving self-awareness and how to apply self-awareness techniques to our lives and professional journeys, as well as highly rated sessions such as Social Security – What You Need to Know, Stop Loss: A Deeper Dive, and ASOPs for Public Plans. Yet, these are just a few examples of the program’s panoply of relevant and engaging educational experiences. ASOP No. 6 Comment Letter Crafted by Healthcare Community Members Members of the CCA’s Healthcare Community have developed a comment letter on Actuarial Standards of Practice No. 6 “Development of Age-Specific Retiree Health Cost Assumptions for Pooled Health plans, Including Applications to Non-Pooled Health Plans.” The comment is being submitted to the members of the ASOP 6 work group by the Steering Committee of the CCA Healthcare Community. However, these comments do not necessarily reflect the views of the CCA, the CCA’s members, or any employers of CCA members, and should not be construed in any way as being endorsed by any of the aforementioned parties. Paper on Value-Based Care The paper " Value-Based Care through Physician Groups - An Actuarial Business Perspective " is now available. This paper was authored by Greger J. Vigen, Mark D. Wernicke, and Edward M. Pudlowski and is being submitted to further the conversation about its topic among actuaries and non-actuaries alike.
